My wife and I enjoyed Mendocino as our refuge from the Bay Area for over 25 years and dreamed of retiring there someday. As time passed we started to get serious about a purchase along the Coast and talked with many realtors who wanted to sell us one of their houses. Scott Roat was the only one who was determined to help us find our home.
Scott navigated our home-buying journey with a great deal of knowledge of the area, an understanding of our needs, and patience to find the right home. We took many weekend trips to tour numerous properties in many different locations in the area. We were amazed at how many different climates, geographies, and locales the North Coast had and Scott knew them all. With Scott’s experience and guidance, we narrowed our area, type of home, and price range.
We found the home we most wanted and put a full-price offer on a short sale where the seller was trying to hold onto it without the resources required. Scott counseled us that by putting in a full-price offer, we would be locking the bid in with the bank. As months passed because of the bank, we were nervous we were missing other homes while we waited for this special one. Scott was always patient, guiding us through the process, and we got the home we most wanted at a great price. A successful journey!
Scott has become a friend over time as we transitioned into our home. His kindness and compassion are expressed in many ways including his love for his furry family members and as a patron of the live music scene on the Coast. Looking back, unsure if we chose Scott, or he chose us. Regardless, it is a lasting relationship we are thankful for and cherish.
